FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose the therapist I want to work with?
Yes. Our Care Coordination team will help match you with a therapist whose experience and approach best meet your needs. You can also request a specific therapist if you have one in mind.
Do you offer therapy for couples, families, or children?
Yes. We provide individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as support for children and adolescents. Your Care Coordinator can help determine the best therapist and approach for your situation.
Do Therapy at Night therapists prescribe medication?
No. Our therapists provide psychotherapy and mental health counseling. If medication is needed, your therapist can refer you to a licensed psychiatrist for evaluation.
Can I have my sessions in person?
All Therapy at Night sessions are provided via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth. This allows for flexible scheduling while ensuring privacy and safety.
Can I drive during my session?
We recommend being in a private, quiet space where you can focus fully. Driving is not advised during video sessions.
Are sessions recorded?
No. All sessions are confidential and not recorded unless explicitly agreed upon for specific purposes (e.g., therapy supervision).
What if I don’t have access to reliable internet?
Sessions require a private space and stable internet connection. If video is not possible, phone sessions may be considered in certain circumstances.
Can we use FaceTime, Microsoft Teams, or another platform?
All sessions take place on our secure telehealth platform. Alternative platforms may only be used in special cases approved by your therapist.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes. Therapy at Night gift certificates can be purchased for sessions. Contact us for details.
Are sessions covered by insurance?
We operate on a self-pay model due to late night and early morning scheduling. Some insurance plans may offer out-of-network reimbursement, and our team can assist with documentation.
Do you offer reduced fees?
Some therapists participate in our Income-Sensitive Rate Adjustment Program. Availability is limited, so please ask your Care Coordinator.
Is emergency care available through Therapy at Night?
No. Therapy at Night is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or suicidal thoughts, call 911, go to your nearest hospital emergency room, or contact the 24/7 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.
Therapy at Night™ clients are saying:
Meeting with my therapist at 6 am when I am rested is by far more productive than the lunch-time sessions I was squeezing in at work…
Somehow the night sessions give me more space to open up. I’m relaxed and it’s just been easier to get right to it.
I love my therapist here, not just because she’s available when I am, but I love that too!
